What AI Metadata Does This Tool Remove?

When generative AI platforms produce images, they write machine-readable parameter metadata directly into the exported file structure. This tool specifically detects and losslessly removes:

Prompts & Negative PromptsSynthesizing instructions and excluded keywords written by Automatic1111, ComfyUI, and Fooocus.
Seeds & Latent ParametersStarting random seeds, subseed values, CFG scale, denoise strength, and step counts.
Model & Checkpoint HashesBase model versions (e.g. SDXL, Flux.1, SD 1.5), LoRA adapters, and checkpoint hashes.
Workflow Node GraphsComplete visual execution graphs embedded by ComfyUI or node-based diffusion workflows.

How Local Processing Works

Your file is read directly into client memory as a typed byte array (Uint8Array). Our parser navigates the binary container headers without canvas re-rendering or lossy compression. Targeted metadata markers are stripped at the chunk level, leaving the underlying pixel stream untouched.

Supported Image Formats

  • PNG: Strips ancillary text chunks (tEXt, iTXt, zTXt).
  • JPEG: Strips APP1 UserComment and Adobe XMP markers.
  • WebP: Parses RIFF containers and removes extended metadata chunks.

Technical Scope & Important Limitations

Metadata removal is not visual AI detection bypass. This tool strips stored header tags, prompts, and parameter chunks. It does not alter visual pixel distributions, lighting artifacts, or invisible steganographic watermarks (such as Google SynthID). The presence or absence of AI metadata is not definitive proof of visual AI generation.

How to Remove AI Metadata in 4 Steps

  1. Select your image: Drag and drop your JPG, PNG, or WebP file into the upload box above.
  2. Inspect detected tags: Click "Inspect Metadata" to view all identified generation parameters.
  3. Execute cleaning: Choose "Remove AI Metadata" or "Clean All Supported Metadata".
  4. Verify and download: Review the two-pass verification report confirming tag removal and download your clean file.
