Legal & Technical Scope

Disclaimer

Important information regarding the technical scope, operational boundaries, and limitations of our browser-based metadata inspection and cleaning tools.

1. No Guarantee of Platform AI-Label Exemption

Our tools inspect and strip supported declarative metadata segments (such as C2PA JUMBF manifests, Adobe XMP namespaces, EXIF parameters, and PNG text chunks). While removing these container tags eliminates file-level declarations of AI origin, we do not guarantee that third-party platforms (such as Meta Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, YouTube, or Google) will exempt your uploaded content from AI labeling.

Social media networks and online services may employ additional proprietary detection methodologies beyond file metadata, including invisible pixel watermarks (such as Google SynthID), machine-learning visual classifiers, behavioral account signals, or mandatory creator self-disclosure requirements.

2. Metadata Signal Checking vs. Pixel-Level Classification

The AI Image Checker and associated inspection tools on this website function exclusively as metadata and provenance signal checkers. They inspect the raw container headers of your uploaded image files for verified, machine-readable tags.

Our tools do not classify raw image pixels or provide statistical estimates of AI generation. Consequently:

  • "No supported AI-related metadata detected" indicates solely that no supported tags were identified in the file container. It does not prove that an image was created by a human.
  • "AI-related metadata detected" indicates that supported tags or C2PA manifests were found. It does not constitute absolute proof that visual pixels were synthesized by an AI model, as metadata can be edited or attached during post-processing.

3. PDF Metadata Removal vs. Visual Text Redaction

The PDF Metadata Remover tool purges Document Information Dictionary keys (such as Author, Title, Creator, Producer, and Timestamps) and Catalog XMP streams. It does not redact visual text, remove black highlighting boxes, or expunge vector glyphs from document content streams.

Users requiring permanent redaction of confidential text or numbers must securely sanitize document contents using dedicated PDF redaction software before public distribution.

4. Client-Side Processing Architecture

All primary metadata scanning, inspection, and cleaning operations occur directly inside your web browser using HTML5 File APIs, Typed Arrays, and client-side WebAssembly/JavaScript. Your files are not uploaded to, processed on, or stored on our servers.

Because processing occurs in local volatile memory, you are responsible for maintaining original backups of any files prior to executing metadata cleaning operations.

5. "As-Is" Service Provision

The services, tools, and educational guides on AI Metadata Remover are provided on an "as-is" and "as-available" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. For further information regarding liability, please review our Terms of Service.
